Verner Panton (February 13, 1926 – September 5, 1998) is considered one of Denmark's most influential 20th-century furniture and interior designers. During his career he designed innovative and futuristic furniture in a wide variety of materials, especially plastics, and in bright colours. His style reflected the spirit of the 1960s, but became popular again in the late twentieth century. His most famous designs are still in production, for example at Vitra. The Panton Chair or the S chair would become his most famous design.
