Piet Zegveld screenprint, signed

Piet Zegveld (Renkum 1946) was educated at the Academy for Visual Education in Arnhem (1966-1971). In his work, especially paintings and serigraphs, but also sculptures and computer art, he uses a simple formal language. Square, plane, line and frame give him enough tools to tell his story.

Zegveld's first screen prints were created in the early eighties. The technique of screen printing lent itself perfectly to creating the tight compositions that the artist had in mind at the time. Gradually came the nuances, the different soft tones, with which Zegveld now often builds up his serigraphs in about fourteen to sixteen printing runs.

The screen printer from Arnhem has been entering the arena of contemporary painting for years, always using the same squares, frames and circles as a starting point. Tell everything with the most minimal visual language.
