Karim Rashid (born 1960) is an Egyptian-born and Canadian-raised industrial designer. His designs include luxury goods, furniture, lighting, surface design, brand identity and packaging. Time magazine described him as the "most famous industrial designer in all of America" and the "Prince of Plastic". He is based in New York City, as well as Belgrade, Miami and India.
PAL is a polyethylene armchair designed by Karim Rashid. PAL, as the name suggests, is a friendly and modern line of indoor and outdoor furniture designed by KARIM RASHID for the Spanish brand VONDOM. The minimal iconic shape on the front of the object is rotated, maintaining a constant flow of similarity between the different objects of this collection.
