Antonio Citterio was born in 1950 in the Italian city of Meda. He opened his own studio in 1972 and obtained his degree in architecture from the Polytechnic University of Milan, the ‘Politechnico di Milano’, in 1975. Between 1987 and 1996 he designed several buildings in Europe and Japan together with Terry Dawn. His designs have won many awards, including items in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art.
